Update Reflection 2021/2022
This 42nd year anniversary is a time of reflection. Giving thanks and praises to the Black Christ for all skillful guidance throughout the years so that we can be here still building strong. I and I also give thanks for His and Her Royal Majesties. His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I and Her Highness Empress Menen Asfaw, Father and Mother of Creation, for spiritual guidance and protection going out and coming in, on this journey of life within a bond so dear.

The Empress League also give thanks for all Empresses, our sisters who worked earnestly on the publication of the EABICWFLL Newsletter, “SHOW UP” and last but not least for our beloved Elders and young Empresses living in the Church holding strong on the Foundation ground; headquarters. In the year 2021 our League has been instrumental in setting up a Zoom reasoning platform, give thanks to the Hon. Empress of the league who help to make it possible through such financial strength towards the zoom Link, which gave us the ability to communicate with the global Empress League Community.

It was through such platform we came together and formed committees to forge the newsletter and link up with our sisters in Jamaica, South Africa, Ethiopia, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, England, America, Gambia, Brazil, Argentina and Chili working together as one force. There was a space created for creative writing where Empresses were taught to write creative advertising, etc.
In Johannesburg (South Africa) Swaziland, the Woman League assisted in funding an Empress quarters to accommodate young princesses and sisters at large seeking Rastafari way of life through the Bobo Shanty culture. The Empress League in South Africa also were involved in a Susu Partnering System that helped to fund their businesses. In Swaziland an Hon. Empress and family, were also helped by repairing the roof of her house, that was damaged by heavy rains.

In Trinidad there was a fundraising event, also a ‘tie-dye’ fabric workshop for the children that was very successful. In South Africa, sewing classes were launched. The first lecture of the EABIC Farmers unit was presented on Essential Healing Oils. In the Economics Committee, the company name HARMONY ROSES was accepted as a suitable name encouraging woman business activity. In the Education Committee, attention was turned to the young ones with the Black Christ-mas Art Competition and the creation of a Farming curriculum. Additionally, a Creative Writing class is taking place among the children of South Africa.

The voice of our Honorable Provincial President the Most Right Hon. Marcus Garvey taught black people self-awareness, self-reliance and self-confidence.

“If you have no confidence in self, you’re twice defeated in the
race of life. With confidence, you have won even before you have started.”
-Hon. Prophet Marcus Garvey
